Koot & Be Present has launched an initiative to support Suryodaya Secondary School in Kathmandu, Nepal. The support includes the collection and transportation of laptops for Suryodaya students and a number of scholarships. As residents of one of the poorest countries in the world these children need and deserve outside help. Access to education means the road towards a better future.

Nepalese children are 100% motivated to go to school. However, many can only dream of it because their parents can not afford school fees. Schools also have shortage of proper resources. We have witnessed with our own eyes how important education is, so we support Suryodaya wholeheartedly.

Reuse of your equipment

A Indian producer recently announced to bring a Tablet PC on the market in 2011 for less than $30,-. That is very good news. However, until then the Suryodaya students depend on PC's and laptops to offer them access to the Internet.

The Internet is for all of us

The Internet is also very important for Nepalese students. This vital source of knowledge is becoming more accessible for them because the infrastructure is expanding. Internet gives them a realistic look at the world, stimulates their imagination and encourages them in their further development. Laptops can easily be taken home for homework and projects. And they are obviously efficient to transport to Nepal.
